Daria Danilova was born in 1995 in Moscow, Russia. Lives and works in Berlin.
Working with photography and moving image, I construct self-imposed systems of repetition, measurement, and restriction. My works often begin with a clear procedural gesture whose precise execution produces stability without leading to useful or conclusive knowledge.
My practice considers how people use rules, repeated actions, and material artefacts to give meaning to our existence. The impulse to systemise, preserve and leave something behind becomes a way of turning a finite life into a coherent narrative. By reproducing these mechanisms, my works question how meaning is constructed through attention, duration, and selective preservation.
